1959 US Mint Silver Proof Set in Flat Pack with 5 Coins and OGP

The 1959 U.S. Mint Proof Set is a classic five-coin collection specially struck at the Philadelphia Mint for collectors. It includes the Lincoln Memorial Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, and Franklin Half Dollar, with the dime, quarter, and half dollar composed of 90% silver. The year is especially significant because it introduced the new Lincoln Memorial reverse, replacing the Wheat Cent design used since 1909. Each coin was produced using polished dies and carefully prepared planchets, creating sharp details, brilliant mirror-like fields, and, on some examples, attractive frosted cameo contrast. The coins were sealed in a clear cellophane flat pack, protected by cardboard inserts, and issued inside an official U.S. Mint envelope. With a mintage of 1,149,291 sets, the 1959 Proof Set combines an important cent design transition, substantial silver content, original Mint packaging, and lasting collector appeal.
