1954 box set 1
1954 US Mint Box with Complete Proof Coin Set
The 1954 U.S. Mint Proof Set is an attractive five-coin collection from the early postwar era of American Proof coinage. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the set contains the Lincoln Wheat Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, and Franklin Half Dollar, with the dime, quarter, and half dollar composed of 90% silver. Each coin was specially manufactured using polished dies and carefully prepared planchets, creating sharp details, brilliant surfaces, and reflective fields not found on ordinary circulation coins. The 1954 Proof Set had a mintage of 233,300 sets and was originally packaged with each coin sealed separately in cellophane, then placed together inside an official U.S. Mint box. Its classic designs, substantial silver content, early-style Mint packaging, and strong eye appeal make the 1954 Proof Set a desirable addition to any collection of historic U.S. coinage.
